White Card Training – Why Face-To-Face Is The Only Way To Go

White Card Training

In the hazardous and high-risk industry of construction, white card training is a mandatory requirement. And while there are many online courses available, white card delivery must be done face-to-face. For example, online white card training in NSW is banned. So it’s imperative for anyone who works in the construction sector to have the correct training under Australian OHS law.

Elevated Training offers face-to-face course training developed by specialist teachers in conjunction with employers, industry representatives and unions to ensure all aspects of health and safety are covered. As a registered training organisation (RTO), Elevated Training, can assist site managers, supervisors, surveyors, tradespeople and apprentices who are employed in operational construction zones to obtain a General Construction Induction white card.

Complete your white card induction with Elevated Training at one of their three sites located at Brendale, Meadowbank and Burleigh or choose to have a representative visit your workplace. The training can usually be completed within six hours with the course outline identifying workplace health and safety (WHS) legislative requirements, construction hazards and control measures, WHS communication and reporting processes and WHS incident and emergency response procedures. ID requirements of 100 points must be met beforehand.

Upon successful completion of the course, applicants will receive a WorkCover Statement of Training, WHS Induction Construction pocket-sized card from WorkCover and a statement of attainment.

It can take up to 30 days for your white card to be issued in the post but the good news is, it doesn’t have an expiration date. It’s important to remember however, that if there’s a lapse in your working career of two years or more, you’ll need to reapply for the training. The white card will provide you with instant certification and a unique card number that can be referenced when applying for work or for self-employment.

Apply for a White Card Construction Induction

A white card allows labourers in the field of construction to legally work in the industry. Workers who require a white card include site managers, supervisors, surveyors, tradespeople and apprentices who access or are employed in operational construction zones.

You can obtain a white card by undertaking an official course provided by a registered training organisation (RTO) such as Elevated Training. Depending on the state you live in, you will receive a white card relevant to that area, for example a Queensland construction induction card. To apply, you must be over the age of 14 and will need to provide 100 points of ID.

We’ll educate you on standard occupational health and safety procedures within the construction industry and how to prevent injuries and hazards in the workplace. You will also have the opportunity to learn about legislation and your rights as a worker including communication, management and compensation.

Once you have completed your training, we issue you with a statement to prove you are successfully qualified to own a white card, which you can use until you receive your card in the post. It can take up to 30 days for your white card to be issued and it does not have an expiration date. It is important to remember however, that if you don’t work in the construction industry for two years or more you will need to reapply for the training.
