Online White Cards no longer available in Queensland

White Card training

Concerned about the quality of online training, Workplace Health and Safety Queensland has advised that all induction training needs to be delivered face-to-face by a registered training organisation (RTO) from 2019.

For residents of QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC, SA & NT online White Card courses will no longer be available. To complete an induction course and receive a White Card, courses will need to be attended in your respective State.

Elevated Training delivers a range of nationally recognised licences including White Card training, and a variety of services to assist sites in meeting workplace health and safety obligations.

In line with the new requirements we provide a full-service training solution where we come to you at multiple sites or locations. There is no travel for your employees and training can be structured in a way to suit the needs of your business or department with no downtime.

Individuals and groups are also welcome to visit our live site training facilities that operate throughout Brisbane, Gold Coast, Northern Rivers and Sunshine Coast, as well as various locations across New South Wales and Queensland.

White Card Training – Why Face-To-Face Is The Only Way To Go

White Card Training

In the hazardous and high-risk industry of construction, white card training is a mandatory requirement. And while there are many online courses available, white card delivery must be done face-to-face. For example, online white card training in NSW is banned. So it’s imperative for anyone who works in the construction sector to have the correct training under Australian OHS law.

Elevated Training offers face-to-face course training developed by specialist teachers in conjunction with employers, industry representatives and unions to ensure all aspects of health and safety are covered. As a registered training organisation (RTO), Elevated Training, can assist site managers, supervisors, surveyors, tradespeople and apprentices who are employed in operational construction zones to obtain a General Construction Induction white card.

Complete your white card induction with Elevated Training at one of their three sites located at Brendale, Meadowbank and Burleigh or choose to have a representative visit your workplace. The training can usually be completed within six hours with the course outline identifying workplace health and safety (WHS) legislative requirements, construction hazards and control measures, WHS communication and reporting processes and WHS incident and emergency response procedures. ID requirements of 100 points must be met beforehand.

Upon successful completion of the course, applicants will receive a WorkCover Statement of Training, WHS Induction Construction pocket-sized card from WorkCover and a statement of attainment.

It can take up to 30 days for your white card to be issued in the post but the good news is, it doesn’t have an expiration date. It’s important to remember however, that if there’s a lapse in your working career of two years or more, you’ll need to reapply for the training. The white card will provide you with instant certification and a unique card number that can be referenced when applying for work or for self-employment.

Which Industry Qualifications Are Right For You?

The labour industry comprises such a broad range of sectors and specialisms that it can be difficult to know which type of role you are best suited to and the qualifications you’ll need to get the job. There are hundreds of training programmes, qualifications and certificates provided by different organisations with varying instructors, so it’s important to find the right one for you.

Australia is home to a large volume of manufacturing companies with thousands of workers that produce many of the goods we buy for use in every aspect of our lives. There are a multitude of jobs in assembly and fabrication, engineering, electrical technologies, warehouse stocking, quality control and management. While there is a lot to choose from, the tools and machinery used in these roles require training to operate – you may need a forklift licence, order picking or high reach licence or a logbook machine licence.

The trade industry is very broad but whether you are looking for excavation or construction work, you will need a QLD white card. To work safely at heights, you need to be qualified with an elevated work platform licence or high risk work licence for scaffolding and rigging. For jobs on building and development sites, it’s likely you’ll require training to conduct hydraulic, skid steer and grader loader operations.

With more and more employers looking for trade-certified staff over degree holders, the future of your career depends on choosing a course that’s right for you. If you’re uncertain about the role or industry you’d like to find work in, contact our team to establish the training that will open up as many opportunities as possible for your employment. Apply for a White Card Construction Induction

A white card allows labourers in the field of construction to legally work in the industry. Workers who require a white card include site managers, supervisors, surveyors, tradespeople and apprentices who access or are employed in operational construction zones.

You can obtain a white card by undertaking an official course provided by a registered training organisation (RTO) such as Elevated Training. Depending on the state you live in, you will receive a white card relevant to that area, for example a Queensland construction induction card. To apply, you must be over the age of 14 and will need to provide 100 points of ID.

We’ll educate you on standard occupational health and safety procedures within the construction industry and how to prevent injuries and hazards in the workplace. You will also have the opportunity to learn about legislation and your rights as a worker including communication, management and compensation.

Once you have completed your training, we issue you with a statement to prove you are successfully qualified to own a white card, which you can use until you receive your card in the post. It can take up to 30 days for your white card to be issued and it does not have an expiration date. It is important to remember however, that if you don’t work in the construction industry for two years or more you will need to reapply for the training.

Your white card will provide you with instant certification and a unique card number that can be referenced when applying for work or for self-employment. If you’d like to learn more about our white card construction induction, simply contact the team to get started!
